Catering Management, Paxia Cloud, Paxia Galleys

We continue our blog series with the third tip on how to deal with duplicate containers in Paxia Galleys.

Tip 3:
How do I identify unwanted duplicate containers?

To reduce clutter in your data, use the duplicate container report to identify containers where the same items have been loaded/repeated in the same or similar quantities in more than one container. The report will identify duplication where the quantities are similar or the same for the items loaded, providing an opportunity to streamline packing plans.

Step 1: Run the Duplicate Container Report

  • Open the Container Catalog:
  • Click on ‘Find’ to display all containers
  • Right-mouse on the grid and choose ‘Reports’
  • Locate and generate the ‘Duplicate Containers’ report

Step 2: Container Replacement: Parent Containers (Carts/Boxes/Oven Inserts, etc.) Access new Products through Product Stowage Summary

  • Identify duplicates requiring action using the PDF report
  • Using the Container Catalog search functions, locate/display the duplicate container
  • Right-mouse on the container and select ‘Detailed Usage’
  • Choose the ‘Module’ Tab
  • Select all records in the grid using the tick box
  • Click the ‘Replace Container’ button, and accept the message advising of a global replacement
  • Search for and select the non-duplicate container that will replace the duplicate
  • Click the ‘Replace’ button to update the modules with the non-duplicate container
  • Repeat this process for all duplicate parent containers
  • Rebuild all products to finish the replacement process

Step 3: Container Replacement: Sub-containers (Drawers/Trays/Racks/Bags, etc.)

  • Identify duplicates requiring action using the generated PDF report in Step 1 above
  • Using the Container Catalog search functions, locate/display the duplicate container
  • Right-mouse on the container and select ‘Detailed Usage’
  • Choose the ‘Container’ Tab
  • Select all records in the grid using the tick box
  • Click the ‘Replace Container’ button, and accept the message advising of a global replacement
  • Search for and select the non-duplicate container that will replace the duplicate
  • Click the ‘Replace’ button to update the containers with the non-duplicate container
  • Set an effective date for the replacement in published containers, and tick the ‘Publish after replacement’ tick box to trigger a new published version
  • Repeat this process for all duplicate sub-containers
